I’ve been avoiding listening to Panic! at the Disco lately. Hearing their music breaks my heart, reminding me that the band has officially come to an end. I’m really, really going to miss them and their music. However, I’m glad that Panic is ending on a good note. The idea of Brendon being a father absolutely melts my heart, and I’m extremely happy for him and Sarah.
The Experiences
For me, Panic was a bit more than a band. I made valuable memories and bonded with people I love over Panic. During the middle of our relationship, my boyfriend hadn’t listened to Panic. After I introduced him, we made lots of memories of singing their songs together during long drives in Colorado. Even my mom started to like Panic!
I found Panic during my sophomore year of high school after “Death of a Bachelor” was released. By this time, there was a lot of people who no longer followed the band due to Ryan Ross leaving. I knew a lot of people in high school who knew Panic way before me, so I’d often times be made fun of for not being a “real fan”. Sure, I soon found an admiration for albums like “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out” “Pretty Odd” and “Vices and Virtues”, but I never trashed on Brendon Urie for continuing to make music after the original band split.
The concerts I got see were also absolutely incredible. One of my cousins and I saw the Death of a Bachelor tour for her birthday a few years back, and my mom went with me to see Prey for the Wicked. We even made matching rhinestone jackets that were Panic themed.
