“Cotton Candy Clouds” is a painting I originally intended to make (and may still make) into a sticker to release on my shop. This painting was admittingly challenging, but it reminded me of how enjoyable it is to stand around at an easel and just create something fun!
However, the idea for this piece didn’t just come from a simple sticker concept sketch. My inspiration to pick up painting again came from a lovely artist I found while checking out Instagram’s explore page one day by the name of “Shelby Nicholas Art.”
The piece linked above is what originally caught my attention. When I went to check out Shelby’s profile, I absolutely fell in love with her work! Every painting is so fun, creative, and has the sense of ‘feel good’ or ‘relatable’ themes. Seeing her work heavily inspired me and made me think ‘This is the kind of thing I’d like to do, too!’ Being a huge Scream fan, it’s no surprise I begged my boyfriend to get me a print of the piece linked above. Shelby’s work is absolutely worth viewing and purchasing!
