Amazing Art Expo – The Aftermath

From April 25th-April 27th, the Amazing Art expo was held at the Hyatt Regency in La Jolla. I was able to attend this con during its opening night on April 25th.

The Experience

When reading online about the con’s details, there was a heavy emphasis on anime, art, pop culture, cosplay, and horror. To my surprise, the convention was much smaller than expected. One room was set up with tables where prints and paintings were laid out for purchase. The featured voice actors had their signing tables at the back of the room. Overall, it was nice to check out and hang around. I would have loved to see more of the cosplayers over the weekend, but had to attend opening night due to schedule conflicts.

Adam’s Art Box

This was the highlight of the convention experience. I had the pleasure of meeting an artist who had many prints available for sale at the con. Adam Michaels, known as AdamsArtBox, is a fantastic artist who I now have signed prints from! Adam was wonderful to talk to and made great, friendly conversation during the convention. The unique talent and use of mediums made for fantastic art to be featured at this expo.

Rodger L. Jackson “Hello, RayTayArt~”

For anyone who knows RayTayArt, it’s no surprise to hear that Scream has been my favorite horror movie for a good few years now! After seeing the first movie in college, I fell absolutley in love with the title and was thrilled to see it turn into a franchise of six whole movies with seven on the way! For sixty dollars, a dream came true on April 25th. I had the honor of meeting and getting an autograph from Rodger L. Jackson himself, the iconic voice of Ghostface.
