Stephen
Stephen is a shadow monster with powerful abilties and strength, despite his childlike mentality. His yellow eyes can be seen even in the darkest spaces.

Stephen is a monster character I created during college. His first apperance was on a sticky note sketch I made during one of my illustration classes in 2021. My professor would start each day of class with a prompt and set amount of time for us to draw something related to the prompt. This challenging warm up game was called, “Stick-tique.” The topics and times would vary, ranging from 30 seconds to five or ten minutes to draw.
Getting to know Stephen
Stephen is a small, shadow-like creature that is non-verbal like Silly. Stephen, similar to Silly, has the mentality of a young child. Stephen likes to color and will usually write with crayons to communictae. Stephen loves to play pretend and use his imagination when playing with his toys. He’s very playful and friendly, but can become threatening and dangerous when provoked.
In normal instances, Stephen is about three feet tall. However, if Stephen becomes irritable, upset, or otherwise provoked, he can grow to be upwards of more than ten feet tall. This also results in Stephen gorwing more tentacles from his body. He can usually be calmed by his friends or favorite toys. Little is known about how Stephen came to life, but some theories hint at that strange magic wand that he encountered back in 2021…
“I asked Stephen to tell me about himself… he just screeched at me. As per usual.” -RayTayArt
Stephen loves to play with toys and stuffed animals. He’s very playful and well behaved as long as he isn’t provoked. Much like Silly, Stephen has a big imagination. He loves to dress up and roleply as different fantasty roles, such as pirates and cowboys. He also wants everyone to know that Silly is his best friend!
Inspiration and Headcanons
Stephen first showed up during the Stick-tique prompt, “wand.” During the thirty second prompt, I drew a wand. With the minute prompt, Stephen was created! And when the five minute prompt was drawn, I once again drew Stephen. After the initial creation during “stick-tique,” Stephen made his next appearance in “Bedtime Warrior” in 2022.
