Charlie

Charlie is my first official anthro character who was created back in 2018. Charlie was originally intended to be a character seen in Cuphead universe, working as a bartender at the Devil’s Casino. Once I started drawing Charlie and including him in fanfictions, I began to develop Charlie more as his own unqiue character.

Getting to know Charlie

Charlie is a male anthro cat, age 25. He has brown fur and blue eyes. Charlie is kind, caring, and has a naturally charming aura behind him. Though he doesn’t always strive to be the center of attention, Charlie handles being in crowds well and enjoys a good conversation with just about anyone he can get along with.

“They wanna get to know me? Gosh, where do I start?”

“Hiya! I’m Charlie!” Charlie is the baby brother of the family, growing up with two loving parents and a role model worthy older brother. From a young age, Charlie was adventurous and creative with his endeavours, leading him to become a mixologist. Charlie may not always be at the center stage, but he can certainly brighten the mood and light up the room with his charmongly happy grin. An easy going and extroverted type, Charlie can make conversation with just about anyone about anything, especially over a drink or two.

Inspiration and Headcanons

While I was in high school, Cuphead was a fresh hot topic in the gaming industry, inspiring lots of creators to build and contribute to its fandom! My creation of Charlie was directly inspired to be an oc existing in the universe of “Casino Cups.”

What would Charlie sound like? My headcanon voice for Charlie would be Streaky the cat from the animated t.v. series, Krytp the Superdog!

Jax

Jax is Charlie’s older brother. His first apperance was in a perspective piece I made during my freshman year of college in 2019, titled “Cool Cat’s Garage.” (The piece is tucked away somewhere!) This idea inspired the first design of Jax, as well as his interest in cars and mechanics.

Getting to know Jax

Jax is a male anthro cat, age 27. He has brown fur with white highlights like his mother, and brown eyes like his father. Jax is funny, intelligent, and charming. Strong and athletic, this cool cat loves to study mechanics, taking apart and building cars from the ground up.

“Hey, I’m Jax. Nice to meet ya!”

From toy cars to massive monster trucks, Jax loves anything and everything on wheels. From a young age, Jax loved to stay in shape and keep his body strong and healthy. His passion for cars was always alongside him, driving him to become a mechanic. After learning that he would soon become an older brother, Jax did everything to ensure that his new baby brother grew up with good morals and manners, the same way his parents raised him. Charlie’s nickname given to him by his older brother was, “Cool Cat.”

Jax is respectful, well mannered, and cares deeply for his family. Growing up, Jax became an older brother to not only Charlie, but also Hyro as the two were practically inseparable as children. While Charlie was still in high school, Jax moved out of state to attend college. During this time, Hyro was kicked out of his parents’ house, resulting in Hyro moving in with Charlie and his parents.

Inspiration and Headcanons

What would Jax sound like? My headcanon voice for Jax would be the American actor and comedian, John Mulaney!

Hyro

Hyro is my second official anthro character who was created back in 2018. Much like Charlie, Hyro was intended to be a character who would be seen within the Cuphead universe, working as an employee at the Devil’s Casino. From there, I began to develop Hyro more as his own character, rather than just a universe-based inserted oc.

Getting to know Hyro

Hyro is a male anthro wolf, age 25. He has gray fur and black highlights at the top of his hair, as well as the edges of his tail. Hyro also has heterochromia, making one eye blue, the other lime green. He’s also my first LGBTQ+ character to have been created, identifying as a bisexual. Hyro is quiet and laid back, often times listening much more than speaking. Most importantly, Hyro is Charlie’s best friend!

“Do I really have to talk about myself?”

Growing up as a black sheep, Hyro has always found it difficult to fit in, socialize, and make friends. His mother is a busy secretary who as Hyro states, “Just doesn’t get me, ya know?” His father is a pastor who takes his work and his beliefs very seriously, resulting in a strict living regiment and disciplinary actions. Due to Hyro’s upbringing, he battles depression and can become very anxious. However, he’s not one to open up easily and express his emotional turmoil, which results in Hyro shying away from asking for help.

After turning 18 and finishing high school, Hyro was kicked out of his parents’ house due to their distaste for his fascination of the macabre and alternative style choices. Hyro’s father was also disappointed to hear that his only son identified as bisexual, leading to the final decision of kicking Hyro out. Hyro’s interests include video games, concerts, and composing music. He dreams of one day becoming a rock star, idolizing rock and metal bands such as Slipknot, Ghost, and many others alike.

Inspiration and Headcanons

Hyro’s name and design was heavily inspired by the character “Haida,” seen in the 2018 Netflix series “Aggretsuko.” Haida was also the source of inspiration for Hyro being a musician.

What would Hyro sound like? My headcanon voice for Hyro would be Billy Loomis from “Scream” 1996!

Ace

Ace is my fourth official anthro character who was created later in 2020. Ace was intended to be a polar opposite of Hyro, hence the softer, rounded edges and white fur. Since his creation, Ace has been characterized as Hyro’s loving boyfriend.

Getting to know Ace

Ace is a male anthro wolf, age 25. This white wolf has much softer, round edges to his fur, intending to be a polar opposite of his current boyfriend, Hyro. Ace is kind and soft spoken. Much like Hyro, he is also an introvert that doesn’t always do well in loud spaces with big crowds. Ace is also my second LGBTQ+ character, identifying as gay.

“Oh, hello! My name’s Ace.”

From day one, nothing meant more to Ace then fashion. As a child, Ace loved to dress up and experiment with style. Now in his early 20s, Ace continues to make statements with everything he wears. However, Ace is not only fashionable. Ace is articulate and intelligent, making his love for books another huge passion of his. Soft spoken and introverted, Ace is the type to enjoy things in the moment. He always knows when to stop and smell the roses. Ace is kind, caring, but sometimes faces difficulties in keeping a level head in certain situations.

Inspiration and Headcanons

Ace’s love for fashion in media was inspired by the outfits worn by Elton John! This is also where the pink glasses for ce came from. Ace doesn’t wear prescription, he simply wears them for style.

What would Ace sound like? My headcanon voice for Ace would be Butterscotch, the fanon genderbent male counterpart to Fluttershy from the animated t.v. series, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
