The internet is a fascinatingly scary place, isn’t it? Although I’ve seen things I wish I could forget, there’s also a lot of things I’ve seen that have really caught my attention. One of those things comes straight from pop culture fandoms; Alternate Universes.
The idea of alternate universes existing has always fascinated me. I would like to believe that they do exist, no matter how far fetched the idea may seem. However, real or not, they’ve made their way into plenty of fandoms for video games, movies, and much more. For those who are unfamiliar, fandom based alternate universes involve different versions of characters, scenarios, and worlds that are set apart from what’s generally cannon. There’s a lot of great examples of AUs that can be found in pop culture, including the one you’re about to read on this blog post! If you’ve visited my social media platforms or website lately, you’ll notice that I’ve become extremely attached to Ghost Face. Not only have I been making a lot of silly doodles of him, but I’ve now created my own alternate universe of him as well.
I made this AU as a comfort/coping mechanism for me. It’s a very personal AU due to the things that I make happen within its plotline. For years, I’ve always wished that someone would write me a love song like all the heartfelt songs I hear on the radio or around the internet. I’ve also found myself jealous of other girls who are spoiled with flowers in their relationships, hence the creation of this AU.
Garden Ghost AU
In this AU, one of my ocs (Red) is in a relationship with Ghost Face. Knowing Red’s romantic desires, Ghost Face is a gardener that has planted Red her own personal garden in the home that they live in together. Every morning before Red wakes up, he goes out to the garden and picks out a single flower, brings it to her, and waits for her to wake up. As soon as she does, it’s the first thing she sees, followed by “Good morning beautiful”.
Ghost Face is very kind and romantic towards Red, and would do anything to protect her and make her happy. However, he didn’t change too much. Though he appears to be “lovey-dovey” with Red, he’s still the classic slasher that everyone knows and loves. Ghost Face will often times bury his victims in the garden, only to continue tending to it for Red’s sake.
